On Thursday, March 21, more than 600 students gathered in the Carmichael Student Center to explore and celebrate the languages, literatures, and cultures of the 12 languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish) offered by the Department of Foreign Languages. This year鈥檚 theme was 鈥淟et Languages Be Your Key,鈥 which underscores the important role that language and transcultural competency play in unlocking opportunities with diverse cultures both domestically and internationally.

The Sentinel, Kennesaw State's student newspaper, even dropped by.

Part of this year鈥檚 event included opportunities for students to interact with faculty members and peers at informational tables so that they could learn more about the different languages taught at 新澳门六合彩资料, 新澳门六合彩资料鈥檚 various study abroad and language-related internship opportunities, the International Student Organization and language clubs, as well as career-related opportunities in teaching languages in K-12 settings.

Another highlight of the event was the over 20 different performances by 新澳门六合彩资料 students and faculty. Performances included songs, dances, poetry readings, martial arts demonstrations, and interactive trivia game.

There were also several submissions to the art contest. This year鈥檚 winners were:

First place: Graciella Elaine 鈥淒ifferent Names鈥
Second place: Iman Fowler鈥揟homas 鈥淯nlock a New Experience鈥
Third place: Maria Schramm 鈥淭he Key to Connect the World鈥
Crowd Favorite: Graciella Elaine 鈥淒ifferent Names鈥

The Department of Foreign Languages next event will be the World Poetry Celebration, held at the CHSS gazebo from 10:30am鈥12:00pm on April 16th.
