About Us

The Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences Undergraduate Advising Center serves students who have declared a major, minor, an interest, or are considering a major, in the College. We assist students with appropriate course selection, fulfilling general education requirements, understanding pre-requisite requirements for their major, creating academic plans, and finding and referring students to other campus resources for their academic success.

Advising is an integral approach in a student鈥檚 progression toward graduation. An advisor typically assists with the following:

  • Removing holds
  • Future course planning
  • Review of program requirements
  • Strategies for student success
  • Readmitting from academic dismissal
  • Dropping or withdrawing from courses
  • Internship information for your major
  • Referrals to campus services and offices
  • Navigating curriculum and university policies
  • Course Program of Study
  • Double Owl Pathways
  • Review of transfer credits
  • Academic standing and academic standing appeals
  • SAP Appeals
  • Staying on track for graduation

Best plan of action: prepare, plan, produce. It's always best to schedule your appointments well in advance of the opening of registration. In the Fall, plan to meet with your advisor between September 10 and October 10. In the Spring, plan to schedule between February 1 and March 1. Advisors are typically booked well in advance of registration, so it's best to be proactive.
